So I bought a used car the sales assistant was very helpful the car itself was in great condition. After 2 weeks of having the car the starting motor went, I contacted the garage and without question they asked me to get the car to them. They had it for about a week in the mean time they gave me a loner car. After a week they rang me car was all sorted and just for good measure gave me a spare wheel, (as the car a bought did not come with one) so all in all great experience with them...

This is our second time to return to Joe Mallon Motors Portlaoise and we cannot recommend them enough. The service we received from Stephen the Sales Manager and Stephanie in finance in 2022 and this year was nothing but exceptional.

Stephen remembered us from our first visit as we travelled from Meath to buy a car from him due to bad service in another Renault franchise. We swore we would be back after our first dealings and we kept our word. You can tell they really take pride in their jobs.

I am in the process of purchasing a Dacia Jogger Hybrid Extreme model and we were looked after by April. She was very kind, polite and professional throughout our visit.

We arranged a test drive to try out how the Jogger would fit our lifestyle (fitting double buggies and car seats etc) and it well passed our needs. Unfortunately there was no Hybrid model available to test drive so we tried the TCe Petrol model which was fine as the dimensions and space inside are the same which was the main priority for my growing family.

Overall it was a very positive experience and I've put in an order for the Hybrid Jogger in Shadow Grey which is a lovely colour in person (they had a Megane in the show room in the same colour).

Looking forward now for it's arrival.

Having a newer car for the first time ever, I chose to use Joe Mallon Motors to do the service on my Peugeot.

It was a 5 star experience all round. The staff are incredibly helpful and efficient, the service was perfect(they even completed a recall action on the car I had forgotten I received a letter about!) and I got a phenomenal courtesy car to allow me to continue my day as normal.

I have been waiting a few months now for a call from the "VW Brand Director" Niall, for some reason the Sales team at Joe Duffy VW can't handle my query around why no VW Service History is available in spite of being told it would be included. Exceptionally poor customer service, would absolutely not recommend them in any way shape or form. Would give them zero stars if Google allowed me.

Myself and friend went into Volkswagen Charlestown, to test drive the R- Line Tiguan before purchasing. I was torn between buying the R-Line and the Tiguan Elegance. We asked Kyle could we look at the R-Line before we committed to the Elegance.  He begrudgingly opened the door and said "ill just leave you to it" rolled his eyes 'tutted' and then continued to say 'its the same as the Elegance, only difference is the seats'. He said in a snotty manner. Kyle had no manners and obviously wouldn't be a great sales man if that is how he speaks to people regularly.

I went to Navan after being there, I did buy the R- Line Tiguan and the lads there couldn't do enough for us.

Nice people, but poor customer service, no brake discs or wiper blades available on day of service.. standard parts. Had to re book.  Re hire car. Poor form. Had to pay heafty for the free car health check.
Very disappointing Joe Duffy

Had a nightmare dealing with this garage! Brough in the car for software update and got it damaged and staff failed to let me know about the damage, trying to hide it at all costs. First of all I had arranged a collection and they forgot to let me know that the car is not ready for collection and just casually told me that I will be informed when to come to pick up the car. After another couple of days I kept calling and asking about the car, if it's all fine as it takes way too long for a software update, I was assured that car is fine, it just takes longer than expected and they'll contact me once it's ready. After more than a week I received a call to collect the car. Upon collection they didn't tell me again that car was damaged, I just noticed something weird, that it's a thick layer of dust in the car and on the windshield, making it difficult to see through, also glass shards on the dashboard along with some black silicone pieces.
After damaging the car, they replaced the windshield and didn't bother to inform me and didn't attempt to clean the car after. When confronted them, the service manager admitted that the car was damaged, but what's my problem as it's fixed! This shocked me! I enquired CCTV footage from the garage with the moment it was damaged or replaced, and I was refused, saying that car was in a blind spot. Also they refused to provide any proof of work carried out, I'm meant to trust their 'honest' word for it. And that's not finished, noticed that rear sensor has the sound disabled, contacted them to get that fixed, as it was fine prior service, and got the closest appointment -  nearly two months, mentioning in the email that the car is under the warranty and I can go to any VW garage to get it fixed. Customer service is awful, Service department is even worse!  I would highly recommend to avoid this place at all costs!

I left my car into Joe Duffy VW charlestown to be fixed (engine light, glow plug light) I was assured it would be fixed that day if I got it in early, so I brought it at 8am, 6.5 hours later I got a call (2:30pm) that they diagnosed the car do I want them to go ahead with the repair? I said yes and again I asked would it be fixed by the end of the day, as I needed it to drop my 1 year old son home, which he replied ‘ah yeah’ if not they would call me, 5:30pm came still no call, keep in mind they close at 6pm, so I rang them and spoke with a female representative.

I explained the situation and asked is my car finished as it was previously stated it would be, she went and checked with the technician, she advised me it won’t be finished that it would be 10am the next morning, I asked for a replacement car which she replied were all out with customers, this left me with no car and no way of getting my 1 year old son back home.

She put me back on hold for a few short minutes, then told me my car would in fact be ready for 6:10pm, I went up collected my car, she apologised and I paid the €370, as I was leaving she explained the dashboard lights would go away once I drove it for a bit, so I left and brought it onto the M50 for 1 hour, to which the lights failed to switch off.

I rang back the next morning and explained it to a male representative to which he said best he could do is get me in a week later? After paying for it to be fixed, which it wasn’t fixed I drove up to the shop to speak to someone hire up to resolve the situation.

I spoke with the Manager and she said ‘she explained my car was PARTIALLY fixed when i collected it’. What she actually said was the Particle filter light would go away once you drive it. The particle filter light wasn’t on, the engine light was on and glow plug light were.
I nor would anyone in their right mind would leave with a PARTIALLY fixed car but more importantly why are they letting partially fixed cars out of their garage? I told her that was unacceptable to charge someone for a “PARTIALLY FIXED”.

She then started to act as if I was being irrational, when all I wanted was what I paid for, a fixed car!
Is the car safe to drive? Is it safe to have my 1 year old son in the car? Am I doing more damage to the car if I continue to drive it? None of these where answered.

Very poor service from start to finish, specially with the manager and her resolve of the situation which was to send me away with a PARTIALLY FIXED CAR, to leave me drive around in it with my 1 year old son and potentially cause further damage to the car!!

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, AVOID!!
